Quick answers
When is the Self Assessment deadline?
Online Self Assessment returns and any balancing tax due must be filed and paid by 31 January following the end of the tax year. Paper returns have an earlier deadline of 31 October. The second payment on account is due 31 July.
When is Corporation Tax due?
Corporation Tax is due 9 months and 1 day after the end of the company's accounting period. The CT600 return is due 12 months after the period end. Companies with profits over £1.5 million pay in quarterly instalments instead.
When is a VAT return due?
VAT returns under Making Tax Digital are due 1 month and 7 days after the end of each VAT period (usually quarterly). Both the return and payment must reach HMRC by that date.
